Explain Everything

This year all the children in Rooms 1, 2 and 3 have been learning to use the iPad app called Explain Everything. We are just learning the basics at the moment but are loving being able to use it to show our learning in Reading. Look at a couple of things we have made so far.

Welcome to 2018

Room 1, 2 and 3 Learning Space

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome to our collaborative learning space for 2018. The children each have a Home Room teacher. Mrs Jane Ruiter is in Room 1, Miss Emma Smith is in Room 2 and Mrs Sarah Boswell is in Room 3. While your child is based in these Home Rooms, we will be working collaboratively and there will be movement between the three spaces and interchange will occur throughout the day.

We are really pleased to share that Sarah is currently expecting her first child. She will be with us until the end of Term 1. We will look forward to welcoming a new teacher to our team in Term 2.

Jane has been teaching for many years at Parkview Primary School and she has a continued enthusiasm for what she does. She has four grown up children and three granddaughters with another on the way! Jane loves travelling and has just completed a four week tour of Vietnam.

This is Emma’s second year at Parkview School. She enjoys travelling and has been to many countries across the world. Emma recently returned from a holiday in the UK where she spent lots of time with family. Emma is passionate about teaching and enjoys new challenges.

Sarah has been teaching for a number of years and has a keen interest in technology and its integration into education. She enjoys playing and watching a range of different sports and has loved watching the Australian Open over the holidays. She and her husband are excited about the new adventures of this year.

Your child will be interacting with all three teachers in a variety of different learning areas. There are many benefits for your child through collaborative teaching and we are looking forward to our ongoing journey. These benefits include, targeted groups, utilising teacher skills and talents and creating a community environment.

We are committed to helping your child achieve their full potential. We are carefully planning to cater for all children’s needs. Within our learning space we are delivering consistent messages, routines and structures.

Important learning space notices:

Arrival and Departures:
  • Please make sure your child is at school before the 8:55am bell to ensure they are ready for the day.
  • At the end of the day we respectfully ask that you wait outside to avoid disruption to the class as this is an important time for us to conclude our day in a positive way. You are very welcome to enter the rooms after the bell to celebrate your child’s learning.
  • Please contact the office if you are going to be late to drop off or pick up your child.

Class Routines

  • Please return your child’s school issued drink bottle or ensure they have a suitable replacement. Please make sure these are named.
