Week 3, Term 4

It was a busy week last week. We had the disco and 8 boys and girls from each year group were in the sprint finals at the end of the Senior Athletics....even some teachers raced. Have a look at the photos below.

Travis Wetlands

We have recently been lucky enough to Visit Travis Wetlands! We saw heaps of cool animals, bugs and trees! We will now be learning heaps more about them in class! Come and check out the stories we have been writing if you are ever in our space

Kapa Haka

On Tuesday we are very lucky to be able to do Kapa Haka with Matua Rihari. This gives us a chance to learn all about our Maori culture, learn lots of different waiata and have lots of fun!

Cricket

Yesterday Room 1, 2 and 3 children had a 30 minute session with two instructors for cricket. We had an awesome time and got a really cool bag to take home. 

Bottle Lake Forest

Last week Room 1, 2 and 3 all took a trip to Bottle Lake Forest. We had a great time and we learnt HEAPS!

Discovery Fun!

This week we got to choose from some really cool activities during Discovery Time. Have a look at the quick clip to see all the fun we had.

For the first two weeks of this term we have been exploring 2D and 3D shapes. Have a look at some of the things we did. 

Our Beach Trip

Discovery Week 8, Term 2

This week we had some different activities to choose from for Discovery. We made insects, Matariki lanterns, castles and so much more. We are all really enjoying discovery time and have lots of fun moving around the different rooms. During Discovery this week we were thinking about ways we could show Mahi Tahi (we collaborate). Our teachers thought we did a pretty good job of showing this. At the end of Discovery we came back together to share our thoughts.

This week we did Discovery with all the Junior classes. We had so much fun and worked with lots of different people.  Have a look at the cool activities we got to do.

At the end of Discovery, we all came back together in Room 3 and thought about the different ways we showed Ako (learning together).

We can't wait to do this again next week!

Waimairi Beach here we come!

Rooms 1, 2 and 3 have been talking about the beach and what we already know. This is to help us get hooked in to our up and coming trip to the beach. We created a Padlet to show all the things we know so far and any questions that we have come up with along the way. 

Junior Cross Country 2017

We had a fantastic time last Wednesday when we ran the Cross Country. We all tried our best and our teachers were very proud of us. Here are some photos of the afternoon.

We always have fun at school and today is no exception. 

Every Friday two children from each home room are given certificates for something awesome they have done. We love getting certificates!

We also really enjoy doing our poem. Each week we have a new poem and on a Friday we get to stick this into our Poetry book. This is a great resource for us to read and we love doing our poem each week.

 

ASB Get Wise.

Over the past few weeks we have been lucky enough to have a visit from ASB to talk about money! We learnt lots about how we can save money and how we can budget our money to save for things that we really want.
